Brisbane 2 Million Trees

WCG has been engaged by Brisbane City Council (BCC) to complete the 2 million trees project. WCG will establish hundreds of hectares of new permanent biodiverse forest throughout the BCC region.

This project demonstrates BCC’s resolve to transforming Brisbane into Australia’s most sustainable city. Its scale will provide significant long-term benefits to the community of Brisbane including:

  • Enhancement of Brisbane’s unique flora and fauna
  • Healthier local waterways from treatment of stormwater flows
  • Enhanced local air quality from the capture of airborne particulates
  • Improved local amenity and climate regulation
  • Substantial carbon sequestration
