Carbon Farming Initiative open for business

The Water and Carbon Group is delighted to confirm that The Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) is now open for business, with the announcement on Friday launching the CFI Administrator. A key component of the Clean Energy Future Plan (CEFP), the CFI will provide exciting opportunities range of stakeholders (including farmers and landholders) to reduce carbon pollution while generating extra revenue.

In addition to the list of activities which will be eligible for consideration by the CFI Administrator, WCG is pleased to confirm the eligibility of activities which align with our core business in bio-diverse forests and wetlands systems:

WCG is experienced in the development and delivery of ecological infrastructure in Australia. This includes bio-diverse reforestation projects which offer unique benefits over standard monoculture (single species) plantings. These benefits include:

  • Biodiversity; protection and enhancement of the Australian environment
  • Improved air and water quality (more shade, increased liveability for our cities)
  • Brand building; CSR and marketing opportunities/ linkages

WCG can assist organisations to plan for the future, minimise carbon liability and potentially secure access to carbon offsets for the future.

If you would like more information about the CFI, types of activities that may be eligible for the generation of carbon credits under the CFI or how your you/ your organisation can benefit from the CFI, please don’t hesitate to connect us
